Custom Work
The Institute for the Future offers custom implementations of its Foresight-to-Insight-to-Action process for individual companies and organizations. Such work is grounded in the research and analysis that the Institute has done over its 40-year history. This rich history of thinking about the future and interacting with others about current and past forecasts sets a solid foundation for assisting our clients in making better decisions now to prepare for success in the future. These implementations are tailored to fit the needs of your organization along the lines of the following examples. For more information, please send email to: info@iftf.org.

Custom Forecast Memo
This is a Custom Forecast prepared specifically for your organization in which we identify five key issues for your leadership group to discuss and develop strategies for during the next year-given the trends of the next 3-5 years. The Custom Forecast Memo is presented in an executive workshop with key leaders from your company with a subsequent written summary. We are now in our sixth year of preparing Custom Forecasts for many of our clients.

Strategic Opportunity Mapping
We work together with you to map out the big-market opportunity areas for your company. This process combines your internal perceptions of capabilities, positional strengths, and market directions with our foresights. From this, we identify potential new markets, products, or services, and outline a plan for next steps. The final output is a graphic map that acts as a compass or roadmap for your organization, and a PowerPoint presentation.
For whom? Strategy departments, new business development groups, and R&D organizations

Custom Emerging Technology Roadmap
Every two years, IFTF completes a graphic map of the technology horizon looking 2-10 years out. The map explores the key transformative technologies in biotech, information technology, material science, and energy, with particular emphasis on the intersections of these technologies. When combined with your internal technology knowledge, the map serves as a basis for creating a customized Emerging Technology Horizon Map identifying core competencies, strategic advantages, and potential new opportunities for your company.
